It is completely okay to be nervous! At Blue Bow Bridal we are here to put you ease and show you a range of different designers. We will start just having a chit chat of budget, what your colours are, what types of styles you dislike/like and from there we will bring you out some gorgeous options!

We suggest starting your search around 12-18 months before your big day, this allows plenty time for any deliveries or unexpected delays and all important alterations. We also advise waiting until you have your date/venue booked, this ensures a much more productive approach to your appointment, we then know key dates to work towards and can better tailor your gown to your venue/setting and vibe for your big day. We try to prioritise our weekend appointments for booked weddings.

We offer a 2-hour appointment to make sure you never feel rushed and can really enjoy the experience with us.

This always depends on the time of year and your chosen designer. It can take anywhere between 4-8 months for your dress to arrive. Delayed delivery is also available with certain designers if required. We can also offer a rush delivery at an additional charge when available for shorter wear dates.

Once your dress has arrived in store, we will be in touch to let you know the exciting news and get you booked in to try your gown on for the first time.

We will usually allocate a 30-minute appointment for your first try on. If you need any longer please let us know in advance.

When you try your dress on for the first time, your balance payment will be due to be paid then. You will then take your beautiful gown home with you until it is time for any required alterations.

It's such an exciting time finding your dream dress and we want you to have the most enjoyable and seamless appointment possible. From experience too many people can often make finding your dream dress a little more challenging, having lots of different opinions swaying the brides decision. A small hand full of your absolute must have VIP guests is all that’s needed and leaves an element of excitement and surprise for your big day. As a guide 3-4 guests is perfect for the layout of our suites, if you need more just let us know and we can make seating adjustments by prior arrangement.

We do prefer if you book your appointment once your venue is booked, this can help with delivery time scales and narrowing down dress styles to suit your venue. We can of course arrange a slightly shorter 1-hour midweek appointment for a small £15 charge. As a small business we try and prioritise our limited weekend appointments for brides with booked weddings. We would love to help you find your dream style, hopefully one day you will return and become a Blue Bow bride.

It's really helpful to wear light/nude underwear to your appointment. A strapless bra is great if you have one but don’t worry if not. Usually a wedding dress doesn’t require a bra as the structure is already built in. A pair of shoes in the correct heel height can be helpful but not essential.

We have an extensive selection of beautiful accessories to complement your chosen gown in the boutique. You can book a separate 30-minute accessories appointment once your dress arrives if you prefer.

Alterations are always separate to Blue Bow and in addition to the cost of your gown, these are always dependent on each person’s individual requirements. Please try and factor this in when purchasing your beautiful gown. This amount can be prior arranged direct with your chosen seamstress once your dress arrives and will be paid direct to them. We offer an amazing team of recommended seamstress’, all alteration appointments must be booked directly with them and are separate to Blue Bow. You are free to use any seamstress of your choosing. We recommend your alterations are booked to start around 6-8 weeks prior to your big day. Try and book this appointment around 5 months before your wedding.

Our dress collections come in a broad range of carefully chosen styles, sizes and price points to cover most brides requirements. We have dresses available to order from a size 6-36 and a gorgeous dedicated curve collection available to try on in store. Our prices are between £600-£2,500. We can always work around your budget so please don’t worry.

We know how difficult it can be to get everyone together for an appointment so please don’t worry. We will always try to accommodate you and by prior arrangement when available we can hold appointments out of usual hours.

We kindly ask that you let us know ASAP if you no longer need or are unable to attend your appointment. Missed appointments are expensive and damaging for any small business, if we know in plenty of time we can usually offer the appointment to another bride on our waiting list. If you have paid a booking fee these are non-refundable, but they are transferable if you wish to change the date of your visit.

During busier times usually on weekends we may need to charge a small appointment reservation fee to secure your appointment. This is fully refunded if you say yes to the dress on the day. We have to sometimes charge this as more often than we would like brides fail to attend and unfortunately don’t always let us know. Often we have turned a bride away who would have taken the appointment. As a country average a lost/DNA appointment can cost a bridal boutique around £1,300-£1,500 per empty appointment.

We are very lucky at Blue Bow, we have our very own free dedicated car park at the side of the boutique, with lots of other parking options directly outside.

We do have full terms and conditions available to view in the boutique, and every bride signs/agrees to and receives a copy of their sale agreement at time of purchase with outlined cancellation terms. As a guide, cancellations are not possible after an order is placed and confirmed from the designers, which usually takes 48 hours. We can offer an exchange when possible to an alternative within the boutique. We ask for a 50% non-refundable deposit at time of order and the remaining balance is due before or within 14 days of your gown arriving, or at your first try on appointment. We can be flexible when possible with payments so please don’t worry. This does not affect your statutory rights.

We do ask that your beautiful gown is paid in full and is taken home at your first try on appointment when it arrives. When available we can offer a storage facility at £10 per month to cover additional insurance.

We are excited for you to discover our gorgeous catwalk suite, our stunning private (upstairs) luxury lounge. Let us know at time of booking if you require this suite. This can be booked at an additional charge depending on requirements for the duration of your appointment. Why not get your girls together and make your appointment a little more LUX!
